What is Senior Year?

It is a fun; thought provoking board game for youth ages 12 - adult. Making it through school is not easy. There are many issues to deal with, such as; drugs, gangs, peer pressure just to name a few. Senior Year ® is about choices, consequences, and learning. We all know that learning is easier if it's fun. That's why this game was created!

Why Play Senior Year?
• Fun, contemporary, realistic, and thought provoking.
• Excellent way for youth to discuss what's on their minds within a safe group setting.
• Educational and informative. Learn English, Math, History, Geography, and current events in a whole new way!
• Drug Awareness - Chock full of state, federal, & private data regarding use and abuse of drugs/alcohol/tobacco.
• Opens up lines of communication between parents, facilitators, and youth in discussing topics such as gang & school violence, moral issues, and life decisions.

Senior Year
Have you ever felt as if all the ideals you've tried to instill in young people have had little or no effect? Growing up in society today with overwhelming peer pressure, our young adults experience a multitude of mixed feelings about drugs, alcohol, school and sexual encounters, just to name a few. We need to prepare our youth to deal with these feelings, and we need to do this in ways that are appealing and fun for them to make our teaching effective. With this in mind, Cygnet Comm has developed Senior Year®…the game, for youth ages 12-adult. The game revolves around drug /alcohol/tobacco prevention with academic components and a "Do the right thing, Stay in school." message. The game's format is based upon the real challenges that all youth face when confronting urban/rural pressures, educational challenges and life choices.

The Story
Alien Nathan came to earth for his school project to find out why some young people drop out of school, do drugs, join gangs, and basically act irresponsibly. Senior Year deals with the tough issues of youth while teaching basic school curriculum and current events in a fun, non-traditional format. Decisions, consequences, and luck all determine a player's journey to graduation. Find out what Alien Nathan thinks of earth and of its inhabitants.

The Game
Players take the journey from freshman to senior year. First player to graduation wins.
This game is intended for 2-6 players ages 12-adult. A teacher, counselor, parent, or qualified adult must/should facilitate this game. A survey of thousands of children and professional educators throughout the United States and Canada indicate the game is an innovative tool and helps open the lines of communication where various issues arise. This game can be a new and innovative way to disseminate pertinent drug/alcohol/tobacco information.
